Google unveils “App Engine”
Today, Google launched a preview release of “App Engine” which they are billing as a way to develop for the “web platform.” This is to help developers get web applications out to the public using Google’s infrastructure.
I cannot wait to see where this project goes. Google plans to give away 500MBs of storage and “enough bandwidth and CPU for 5 million monthly page views.”
Also note that Google plans to hold a conference dubbed the “Google I/O” conference on May 28 & 29, 2008. You can learn more about this conference and sign up on the conference website. This topic will no doubt be the talk of the interwebs for quite some time.
