Wii News

December 20th, 2006 § 0 comments

Nintendo has just updated the Wii Software. The update includes the Forcast Channel, which allows you to connect to the internet and retrieve forcast information from around the world. The channel also includes a Google Maps like “Globe” that allows you to navigate the forcasts.

Nintendo also annouced the beta release date for the Internet Channel (Opera Browser) as 12/22/06. The beta can be downloaded for free from the Shop Channel.

There has also been some speculation that Nintedo will be giving away a “surprise” for Wii owners on Christmas Day. Some of the speculation has been: Wii Shop Points, Free Virtual Console Game, Free Wii Game, or Special Channel. We will just have to wait to find out. If this rumor turns out to be true, I will be posting what it was here; So stay tuned for more information!
